Copper Creek Triathlon features a challenging course for
those new to the sport of triathlon or “seasoned pros.”
Beautiful Copper Creek Lake Park, located in the heart of Pleasant
Hill, will serve as host of the event.
COPPER CREEK TRI OFFERS:
• 750M Swim: A beach start, one loop, clockwise swim in crystal-clear
Copper Creek Lake.
• Transition: The transition area is located south of Lakeside
Fitness in the parking lot.
• 20K Bike: An out-and-back course traveling south through
the community on Pleasant Hill Boulevard and along the Des Moines
River on Vandalia Drive. The course has several moderate hills.
A bike support vehicle will travel the course.
• 5K Run: The residential streets surrounding Copper Creek
Golf Course, located directly east of Copper Creek Lake Park, and
the path around Copper Creek Lake will host the run portion of the
event.
• Copper Creek Triathlon is a proud, founding member of Central
Iowa’s Flatland Multisport Series.

PACKET PICKUP:
Note: You are required to pick up your race packet in person. You
must have a valid drivers license to receive your packet.
Packet pick up will be Saturday, June 5, 2010. The location of
packet pickup will be provided in
your Athlete Guide, which will be emailed to you approximately 7
days before the event.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION :

Copper Creek Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. All USAT rules
will be enforced.
Each athlete must attend the course talk, produce a photo ID and
current USA Triathlon annual membership card or receipt of your
1-day permit (purchased when you registered).
All athletes must pick-up his or her packet in person. Packets
will not be mailed and cannot be picked up by a person other than
the registered athlete.
Each competitor must wear a CPSC or, for helmets manufactured prior to 1999, ANSI or Snell standard helmet, and have it securely fastened while mounted on the bicycle
Only participants are allowed in the transition areas. No extra
equipment (additional wheels, helmets, etc.) will be allowed in
the transition areas.
Use the toilets provided by the race. Anyone caught failing to
do so may be disqualified and will not receive a refund.
Cancellation / Registration Transfers
This event will be held rain or shine in accordance with USAT Triathlon
guidelines and with athlete and volunteer safety made the top priority.
Registration Transfer Policy: No cash refunds
are available for any reason. Options: (1) Entry fees can be applied
toward another 2010 Flatland Multisport Series event if written
notice is received at least 30 days prior to the event; (2) An entry
fee can be transferred to another athlete by contacting race directors
with a written or email notice from the original registrant and
is received 14 days prior to the event. All transfers are subject
to a $15 processing fee.
The Flatland Multisport Series multi-race discount ($225) is nontransferable.
